Farmers in Kasese district have asked government to set up standard gate farm prices for grains as away of motivating farmers to increase production.
The farmers say the current Price of grains including maize is a threat to agricultural productivity.
Mr.Herizon Kitalibara, a farmer in Kiruli A Village in Maliba sub-county and Mr. Nason Maate Mughanda of Ntunga Village in Kithoma sub-county, said however after farmers managed to minimize post-harvest losses but are surprised with the pricing, especially Maize, cassava flour and beans which did well in Kasese district this season.

The environmentalists, urged government to establish better storage facilities at community level to help farmers improve their livelihoods, urging that the existing facilities are insufficient. END.
