A section of farmers in Kasese district allegedly face challenges accessing agricultural extension officers, including veterinary experts.
Speaking to our reporter, Ms. Juliet Kabugho a member of Kitabu Thuyirethuthi cooperative union in Kitabu sub-county and Mr. Juvenile Kule, the Manager for Mt Rwenzori coffee farmers’ cooperative union in Kasese said some of these officers seem busy in their individual duties and sometimes appear unwilling to give free services to the farmers even when they are civil servants.
The farmers who were winding up their training in Verina gardens in Kasese Municipality, call for activeness by the said officers and a streamlines system to link them to local farmers for technical guidance for purposes of improving production. Ms. Kabugho and Mr. Kule….
Responding to the concern, Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa the agriculture extension officer for Kasese municipality urged farmers to form groups according to their activity categories to ease trainings by the few technical officers available. Mr. Bukanywa speaking……
