Poor farming practices are largely to blame for the increasing cases of pests and diseases, as well as poor harvests, the Kasese municipal agricultural officer, Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa, has said.
Speaking to our reporter at his office yesterday, Mr. Bukanywa said planting the recommended seeds, avoiding bushes around gardens, timely ploughing, weeding and application of standard pesticides, were key technical interventions by farmers against pests and diseases.
