Girls in the regions of Teso and Karamoja still struggle with access and disposal of menstrual hygiene products.
While releasing findings of their three years research in the two regions yesterday, the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development revealed women and girls in Karamoja still use old and rudimentary options of isolating themselves and sitting on heaps of soil during their monthly period.
Nakibuuka Noor Musisi Centre for Health, Human Rights and Development Deputy Executive Director says as a result of this difficulty, girls end up missing school up to five days every month.
