The European Union has commended Kenyans for peaceful elections and urged parties to resolve the remaining concerns through legal means.

In a statement, the EU said it had taken “note of the results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission declaring Mr. William Ruto winner of the election and the decision to appeal by Mr. Raila Odinga”.

The European Union High Representative Joseph Borrell said all political and societal leaders must avoid any violence and call for calm.

Mr. Borrell also congratulated President-elect Ruto. END
