Ms. Evelyn Mugume, the Senior Environmental Officer for Kasese Municipality, has urged the public to adopt proper plastic waste management practices within their communities as a key step in combating climate change.

Speaking to stakeholders at St. Peter’s Primary School in Kasese town during the municipal celebrations for World Environment Day 2025 today, Ms. Mugume described plastic waste as a growing threat to society.

Mr. Edward Bwambale, the Local Council One Chairperson for Umoja Cell, appealed to municipal authorities to take action against stray animals in the area.
