The Kasese District Secretary for Social Services, Mr. Girivazio Monday Bwambale has urged community members to give a new shape to their fears over climate change challenges by massively backing plans aimed at conserving the environment.
Addressing a stakeholders’ meeting organized by Rwenzori Green College Foundation, a non-government organization held at Verina gardens in Kasese municipality this week, Hon. Girivazio said whereas the deadly behavior of most rivers in Kasese could have guided the masses on the need for environmental conservation, some community members were still acting contrary. Mr. Rogers Banyenzaki, the organization’s head of projects asked different leaderships in Kasese district to consider closely involving and skilling the youth on various ways of conserving the environment for the masses to live harmonious with nature. Mr. Banyenzaki speaking……
Earlier, Ms Evelyn Mugume, the Kasese municipal senior environmental officer said failure to conserve the environment had made the living conditions in Kasese hard thus, frustrating tourists most of whom decide to spend nights out of the district. END
