Ms. Jane Francis Kamashamba, the President Kasese Municipal Development Forum has described the forum as a coordinating mechanism for promoting ethical conduct, integrity and accountability in local governments.
In her opening remarks during the Annual General Meeting held at Central division council hall this morning, Kamashamba, commended the Forum for ensuring accountability transparency in government programs, Monitoring and supervision of USMID project and environmental conservation among others.
Kamashamba revealed that Kasese Municipal Development Forum had also proposed to government for the elevation of Kasese Municipality to a city status. Ms. Kamashamba speaking…..
She warned the stakeholders against being intimidated by local government officials but voluntarily do their work for effective service delivery to the local community, saying their resilience has made KMDF the best in Uganda.
Mr. Godfrey Kiwede, the Publicity secretary said the Forum has also participated in Kasese Municipal Budget process, attend high level engagement meetings, network and submit reports to government.

Kiwede however said the forum is still challenged with inadequate funding, Documentation and lack of ownership programs by the local community. END.
