Eng. Robert Masereka Marule, who lost the NRM primary elections for Busongora County North in Kasese District to the incumbent, Hon. Sowedi Kitanywa, has declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections.
While addressing the press yesterday at Verina Gardens in Kasese Town, Marule cited alleged alterations of declaration forms, claiming that results from thirteen lower local government were manipulated and tampered with. Eng. Marule speaking…
Marule, who had initially considered seeking legal redress, said the process could be long, as a result, he has opted to run as an independent candidate and is now appealing to his supporters to actively popularize his manifesto among the electorate.
Other are, John Monday Wakighoma and Asiimwe Mike Mbakania, who have announced to contest as independents over alleged irregularities.

I suggest that for the good of our kasese, and political carriers of our fellows in particular Eñg Robert marule and asiimwe mike mbakania, would step down for the flag barer and focus on come next term 2031-2036.
Otherwise these 2 people are spoiling their carrier by contesting as independent candidates .
Sowedi kitanywa will still win them in the coming general elections, so they shall begin to sound and be identified as political failures .
