Lt. Matte Magwara, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner has asked parents and guardians to reasonably engage their children in work against idleness that recruits them into the devil’s kingdom.
He said involving children in work does not necessarily mean dropping out of school but making the young people appreciate work and making the part of the resource mobilization.
In an interview with our reporter shortly after a one-day dialogue meeting organized by Community Endorsement for Rural Development held at Verina gardens in Kasese municipality yesterday, Lt. Magwara also said it was only education coupled with exemplary parenting that will guide children against early marriages, teenage pregnancies, theft and street kidding. Lt. Magwara speaking……..
Mr. Ernest Thabugha, the Kasese district education officer, asked parents to value the importance of having their children in school at a tender age to avoid what he called social diversions like defilement and early marriages among other children right violations.
