    By Kyamanduma Patrick,

Local Waragi manufacturers in Kasese district are counting losses after suspected elephants turned to drinking their brew and eating bananas at the distilling sights.

Mzee David Insiko 80, well known for local brew distillation in Kyalanga in Karusandara subcounty told our reporter that besides the costly distilling process of Waragi, elephants were making the business more costly for targeting their raw materials.

One of the Local Waragi Manufacturers

Mr. Insiko said whereas there are many items to hire, including labor to have the work well done, political leaders should use their positions to have the electric plan materialized to have wildlife tamed, or else it will be hard for them to proceed with the business. Mzee Insiko speaking….

When asked about the dangers caused to society by their business, Mr. Insiko said like food, the consumers of Waragi should drink responsibly.

He was also concerned about the future of children he asked not to drink alcohol or else, they were damaging their health and future. END.
