    Elephant kills a 40-year-old woman in Queen Elizabeth National park

    A 40-year-old woman is reported to have been killed by a suspected elephant in Queen Elizabeth National park in Kasese district.

    No official comment yet from either UWA leadership or Police, but the Chairperson Local council one Kakone cell in Katwe-Kabatoro town council, Mr. Johnson Binagwa said the late Goreti Gumisiriza who hails from Bukeza sub-county in Mubende district was allegedly attacked and killed by the beast as she returned from collecting firewood.

    Mr. Binagwa warned the locals against illegal risky firewood, saying the body had been transported to Bwera Hospital for postmortem.
