The Elderly in Kasese District yesterday celebrated the Belated National Older Persons Day, emphasizing the need forcollaborative efforts among various stakeholders to ensure that the rights of older persons are protected, especially in retirement.
The event, held at Boma Grounds in Kasese Municipality, also highlighted key challenges facing the elderly, including poverty, discrimination, corruption, and the impact of non-communicable diseases, which have made many older persons increasingly vulnerable.
