The popular Ekya-Karoli swamp in Kasese Municipality will soon turn into a tourism site, Mr. Safari Martine, the Central Division local council three chairperson has revealed.
According to Mr. Safari, a consultant had been engaged to guide about the plan that will see the swamp turned into a tourism site to enhance local revenue collection and also improve local business.
Addressing the media at his office yesterday, Mr. Safari who said the swamp was rich with a number of unique birds and reptiles added that his office was closely collaborating with potential developmental partners to boost local tourism to create jobs, improve household incomes and improve the living conditions of the local population.

He later revealed that Kasese municipality will introduce charges for individuals who will fail to adhere to laws aiming at promoting sanitation since they will have introduced liter bins as the ongoing construction of USMAID roads is completed.
