Former Minister of Defense, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga has said Uganda has a very reason to celebrate sixty-one years of her Independence now that the country has gone a milestone into democratic elections and industrialization.
He said with the emancipation of women, the protection of the youth, children and PWDs’ rights, were all indicators that close to forty years of the NRM rule were not to waste.
Addressing a press conference at Verina gardens in Kasese Municipality yesterday, Dr. Kiyonga said it was in black and white that the ruling government successfully invested in roads, electricity, health and security despite some challenges, asking Kasese to appreciate and celebrate reasonably. The former Ugandan Ambassador in China later however faulted the opposition political players for indoctrinating the local community with what he called diversionary statements that do not only mislead but promote hate talk that only leave electorates in empty discussions than gatherings of positivity.
