There was Jubilation at Makerere University as the newly appointed Chancellor Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga took over office today.
Speaking to our Reporter on Phone this evening, the NRM Vice Chairperson and Publicity Secretary Mr. Johnson Kamalha Kalyasa expressed his excitement saying President YK Museveni who was the chief guest at the installation ceremony described Dr. Kiyonga as one of the few outstanding leaders in Uganda. Dr. Kiyonga has served in different ministries and posts, the recent one being the Uganda’s Ambassador to China based in Beijing.
He commended president Museveni for appointing him the Makerere University chancellor saying in the coming time he will link with Barnabas Nawangwe to clearly understand all the pertinent issues of the university in order to work with them and work towards building the future. END
