Cases of domestic violence are on the increase in Kasese district, with a call on married couples and family heads to popularize family courts and round table dispute resolution approaches for peaceful living.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at his office yesterday, SP Nelson Tumusiime, the Rwenzori East Regional police spokesperson, reports that 204 domestic cases were registered between July and October 2025, compared to 141 registered between April and June, with Hima registering 75 cases, the highest.
SP Nelson later called for renewed interventions by family heads, the civil society organizations, opinion, cultural and religious leaders he asked to popularize forgiveness and reconciliation to reverse the trend.
