Kasese District Chairperson Mr. Erifaz Muhindi has said despite the interventions of government in handling the conflicts between Isango sub-county and Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town Council over the cattle holding ground, their effort is frustrated by selfish individuals.
He says that the Ministry of Local Government had agreed and guided that the cattle holding ground be operating in Isango sub-county as its major revenue base.
But Muhindi expressed disappointment that the people whom he described self -seekers have failed the market in Isango to stabilize even when the honorable minister of local government had guided that the market be retained in Isango sub county.
According to him, the local revenue has continued being collected by unauthorized people leading to loss to the lower local government, thus denying community services even when the district security committee had agreed to implement the guidance of the minister and commissioners from ministry of local government that held a meeting with interested parties in Mpondwe town Council to reconcile the parties involved.
