The Diocese of Kasese has today joined the rest of the world in celebrating the life of Pope Francis and praying for his soul with a call on Christians to emulate the fallen Holy Sea by protecting the rights of the poor and marginalized categories of people.
In his homily while presiding over Special Holy Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Kasese Cathedral Church this morning, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira, the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, described Pope Francis as a celebrated Church leader who remained consistent in preaching about unity and helping the vulnerable people, including the poor, PWDs, the marginalized, Refugees and protecting unborn babies.
The Bishop was later concerned about multiple sexual relationships, separations and unnecessary remarriages by couples; translating into regrettable consequences on the institution of the family and the Church as well. Bishop Kibira speaking1……..

Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after Holy Mass, the MP hopeful for Kasese Municipality, Hon. Francis Mugisa Kithulha and Marylyn Kabugho eying the Kasese district woman MP seat, condoled with the entire Catholic Church, calling for support to plans aimed at neutralizing conflicts that have negatively affected families and the Church. At the same Cathedral after Holy Mass, the former Kasese district FDC chairman, Mr. Saulo Maate described the late Pope Francis as God sent Master of environmental conservation and peace who practically preached about the need to protect rights of the needy, including, refugees and the poor, as well as promoting peace and unity for all in poor countries.
