The Clerk to Parliament, Hon. Adolf Mwesige has called on Ugandan universities to invest more in research and prioritize equipping students with problem-solving skills that meet both national and global job market demands.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony of Divine International University in Kahungabunyonyi in Fort Portal city over the weekend, Mr. Mwesige the university chairperson, emphasized the need for institutions of higher learning to focus beyond academic theory and produce graduates who are skilled and capable of addressing real-world challenges to be competitive internationally.
According to Dr. Jimmy Katuramu, the University Director the establishment of the institution is a timely intervention to ease access to higher education in the region as Students will no longer have to travel long distances to acquire university education, encouraging parents to embrace this opportunity.
