Current and Future generations of nurses must be prepared to communicate and properly care for deaf patients, the Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, Hon.Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga has said.
The teaching is restricted to the adaptation of planned and established approaches to sign language and procedures to administer proper medicine to the deaf and people living with disabilities.
Officiating at the Graduation of 31 people including 19 Nurses and 12 workers with Disability Groups who had undergone a six month basic training in sign Language in Bukonzo County west held at persons with Disabilities Centre for Social Development –CESODE in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, Hon.Kabyanga said Government was committed to support Medics in sign language since its mandatory.
