The two years lockdown forced by COVID-19 pandemic fueled the rate at which children’s rights were abused, Mr. Sedrack Bakulirahi, the Director for Vision International Actors has said.
Mr. Sedrack whose organization is currently implementing a project in Nyamwamba and central divisions in Kasese Municipality against girl child abuses, was concerned about the increasing cases of incest fueled by elderly men.
Ms Zainabu Asiimwe, the Kasese district senior probation and social welfare officer calls for more consciousness by parents who must trust nobody over their young girls now that they are a target for abuses by the irresponsible old men.
She also blamed the parents for giving limited time for their children who have no parental advice anymore, and end up in the hangs of scavengers. Ms Zainab speaking……….
