Court of Appeal has overturned the ruling of the High court at Fort-portal that upheld the Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu as the Member of Parliament for Busongora County South, ordering for a by-Election.
The Justices of the Court Appeal led by Fredrick Engonda-Ntende overturned the decision of the High Court at Fort-portal on grounds of electoral mult-practices, including casting of votes by ghost voters.
The defendant who in this case is Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu, will shoulder the costs of the appeal.
The Justices concurred with the appellant, Hon. Jackson Mbaju Kathika that the Katunguru Primay School, Katunguru Market and Busunga Primary school in Kasese District were mired by malpractices that included voters some of who were out of the country and dead by the time the country went to polls.
Mbaju Jackson Kathika described the ruling as Justice at work before asking his supporters to prepare for a successful election battle.

Meanwhile, in the same court of Appeal has confirmed Dr. Ruyonga Joseph as the validity MP for Hoima west Constituency in Hoima district and dismissed the election appeal of Kasule Ismail with costs for being misconceived and lacking merit. END.
