The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kanyanya has declined to grant bail to ten supporters and bodyguards of National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
In a ruling delivered yesterday, Grade One Magistrate Damalie Agumaasiimwe rejected the bail applications, citing lack of substantial sureties, the risk of interference with prosecution witnesses, and the gravity of the charges.
The accused include Edward Ssebuufu, commonly known as Eddie Mutwe, Kivumbi Achileo, Tasi Calvin, Sserunkuma Edwin and Lukenge Sharif and Kaija Doreen, among others.
They face multiple charges ranging from unlawful drilling and conspiracy to commit a felony, to offences related to wearing Military uniforms and violations concerning the operation of a private school. END.
