By Kyamanduma Patrick,
There was reported heavy deployment at the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council headquarters in Kasese district after the councilors reportedly refused the newly appointed treasurer.
According to sources, most councilors have been disappointed over what they call unclear circumstances regarding the transfer of Ms Enid Kapuru, their former treasurer.
In a telephone interview with Kasese Guide Radio last evening, Mr. Selevest Mapoze, the area local council three Chairperson confirmed the deployment he said could have been forced by the resistance by councilors against handing over to the new treasurer, Stephen Mulemba in the absence of his predecessor.
Mr. Mapoze who said they had welcomed the cross transfer of their new town clerk, Mr. Moses Mugisa, replacing Ms Alice Bwambale currently serving in Ibanda-Kyanya town council, indicated that the councilors also wonder why there was no reported formal communication related to the alleged unclear withdraw of Ms Kapuru, the former town council treasurer. According to Mr. Mapoze, the alleged interdiction of Ms Kapuru who only implemented a council resolution, could have been caused by the frictions related to the cattle market, a matter he said could have been solved amicably if the Kasese District Administrative Office caused a meeting with Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council leadership.
