The Kasese Resident District commissioner Lt. Joe Walunsimbi has said he was finalizing plans for a local leadership meeting that will look into the delayed efforts to open permanent boundaries between Katwe-Kabatooro town council and Queen Elizabeth national park.
Lt. Walunsimbi who was the chief guest at the ground breaking ceremony of the long awaited Katwe-Kabatooro Town Council administration block, was concerned that the same boundary challenge was almost causing a boycott by the local community of the recent parliamentary by-elections in Busongora County South.
The retired UPDF officer later appreciated the town council leadership for the administration block construction he described as a gift to the people of Katwe-Kabatooro. Lt. Walunsimbi speaking……
Mr. Johnbosco Kananura Omilodi, the excited looking area local council three Chairperson said the delayed construction of the administration block was caused by financial mismanagement by some technical staff who worked selfishly. Mr. Kananura speaking………
At a total budget of about 1.3 billion shillings, close to 240 million shillings already on the town council Bank Account, will facilitate the first phase of the block construction according to Mr. Esau Mulongo, the town council Town clerk. Mr. Murongo speaking……..
