Police in Hoima has arrested a 39-year-old man for allegedly soliciting 350,000 Shillings.
The suspect has been identified as Elisa Kato, a resident of Kigorobya town council in Hoima district.
Kato was arrested on Monday at the Hoima Magistrates’ Court after he received 350,000 Shillings from Gorret Katusabe, a resident of Kigorobya Sub County to help bail out his son.
Katusabe had gone to court to secure bail for her son David Mande who was imprisoned on charges of causing grievous harm and theft of cattle.
According to Katusabe, while at Hoima Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Kato approached her saying he would connect her to Elijah Iradukunda,
the Hoima Principle Grade One Magistrate to secure bail for her son. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson has confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect. End.
