Police and the Uganda Red Cross yesterday(5th.Sept.2021) rushed to rescue people that could have been at a building that collapsed in Kisenyi, near the bus terminal, amid an afternoon downpour.
According to information from the Uganda Red Cross, emergency rescue services teams had been deployed together with two ambulances to support the rescue operation.
The Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigire confirmed the incident, saying investigations were underway.
He said the forces sent a team of officers to establish what could have gone wrong at the site.
Reports later indicated that Kasese Capital City Authority has organized an urgent meeting today of technocrats and politicians mainly about the causes of collapsing structures in the capital city. END
