Mr. Bernard Bwambale, a senior nutritionist working with CONSENT, a non-governmental organization based in Kasese district, calls for well-balanced diet that contains an adequate amount of all the nutrients required by the body to grow, remain healthy and be disease-free.
Mr. Bernard who called for the consumption of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day, base meals on higher fibre starchy foods like potatoes, bread, asks members of the community to feed on dairy alternatives such as soya drinks, as well as eat some beans, pulses, fish, eggs and meat to provide the necessary energy requirement to build immunity.
