Coffee traders in Kasese Municipality have vehemently opposed the Coffee Amendment bill 2024.
At a consultation meeting with the Kasese Municipal legislator, Hon.Ferigo Kambale this evening, they condemned the bills proposal to rationalize the Uganda Coffee Development Authority-UCDA, citing threats to coffee Quality, Market promotion, regulation and expertise.
Mr.Fred Katongole, Katsirombyo Fred Bwambale, Jennifer Kyakimwa and Wali, urged that merging UCDA with the Ministry of Agriculture would undermine its effectiveness and compromise coffee quality.
