Kasese stands at crossroads, where the consequences of climate change threaten its rich biodiversity, agriculture practices, and the wellbeing of the locals, Mr. Martin Kato, a resident of Kanyatsi cell in Kyalhumba sub-county has said.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after a one day dialogue between Farmer International Radio, a non-governmental organization and residents of Kanyatsi cell at Kanyatsi trading centre yesterday, Kato urged government to prioritize climate change education as a fundamental element of its national agenda.
Kato said climate change manifests in various ways, from prolonged drought affecting agricultural activity, destroying roads, schools and businesses, appealing to government to help the affected people with Agricultural inputs and create awareness through the media.

Mr. Augustine Kanoti Baluku, aresidents of Kisanga cell in Kyalhumba town council like Sam Kahigwa of Karusandara sub-county, commended Farmer International Radio for organizing the dialogues, but requested the NGO to advocate for the rehabilitation of Karusandara and Nkoko bridges which were reportedly swept by floods.
