Over 50 clergy attached to the Diocese of Kigezi held a demonstration in Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale district to express anger over the brutal killing of the Rubira Church of Uganda lay reader.
Living Aryanyikuka went missing on 15th January after leaving home to Kabale town.
His motorcycle, coat (maroon in color), church books, and receipt for church money were found abandoned along Kabale Mbarara road in Rubira village, Kyanamira sub-county.
His body was however on 20th January discovered floating on the waters of river Rwabakazi under the bridge along the Kabale-Mbarara highway.
The deceased’s body had heavy bruises on the face and visible blood stains, which police suspected he was beaten and killed before being dumped in the water.
The clergy which included priests, Lay readers, and other officials from Kigezi Diocese headquarters gathered at Rubira Church of Uganda where they held a special Litany prayer, led by Rev.Canon Obed Turihohabwe, the Diocesan Dean.
