The cleaning exercise for the education week in the Diocese of Kasese has ended successively in various areas today with a call on the public to conserve and keep the environment clean.
In his address to the students of Mubuku Valley senior secondary school in Mubuku town council this afternoon, Rev. Fr. Joseph Mbusa, the education secretary for the Diocese, said the exercise was among others to show love and demonstrate to the community the importance of living in a well-protected and clean environment.
Mr. Augustine Kasoro, a teacher at Mubuku valley secondary school and Mr. Steven Thembo Mawa, the head teacher for St. Maria Goreti school in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, commended the diocese for the education week they said was an eye opener against poor garbage disposal and environment mismanagement. Later, Fr. Joseph asked school propitiators to provide dustbins in school compounds and plant more trees for the safety of their schools. END
