Mr. Kato Soro, the Chairperson Kasese District Public Accounts Committee, has urged civil servants to avoid corruption and be firm on issues of Accountability as they carry out their duties.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio yesterday shortly after meeting town clerks, sub-accountants and town agents in Kasese at the district headquarters, Soro said Accountability enables the government to improve service delivery.
He warned technocrats against misusing Government resources because it taints bad image, urging them to serve the people with dignity and diligence.
Soro said DPAC is in the process of making officers accountable of government funds and local revenue collection especially from F/Y 2022 to date. Mr. Soro speaking…..
He encouraged civil servants and Political leaders to always maintain good working relationship, stating that corruption and fights cripple services for the ordinary people.
Mr. Pascal Baluku, the treasury for Katwe- Kabatooro town council, decried the low revenue collection he said is only based on the salt lake, which sometimes is unpredictable due to climatic changes.
