Believers in Christ have been urged to properly utilize the God given talents and wisdom to serve others by emulating the life of St. John Maria Vianney.
In his Homily while presiding over Holy Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Kasese Cathedral, the Rector, Rev. Fr. Joseph Kirungi said Saint John MariaVianney was canonized by Pope Pius XI on 8th Jan 1905, a French Catholic priest who is venerated in the Catholic Church as a saint and as the patron saint of parish priests whose feast is celebrated annually 4th August.
St. John Maria Vianney, internationally is known for his priestly and pastoral work in his parish in Ars, France, because of the radical spiritual transformation of the community and its surroundings.
Catholics attribute this to his saintly life, persevering ministry in the sacrament of confession, and ardent devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
He asked Christians to emulate today’s saint in using the God given talents and power through praying for one another, helping the less privileged and giving thanks to the lord. Fr. Kirungi speaking…
St. John Maria Vianney was also known for his devotion to the Virgin Mary and to St. Philomena, but also dedicated to the sacrament of reconciliation for his parishioners. END.
