The Chief Finance officer Kasese district and three other officials have been arrested this evening on allegation of abuse of office and poor handling of government equipment’s, Kasese guide Radio has learnt.
Speaking to Kasese guide radio an official from state House Anti-corruption Unit on condition of anonymity identified those arrested and detained at Kasese central police station as, Chief Finance Officer Kasese district, Ms Margret Muhindo, the former town clerk for Mubuku town council, Mr. Robert Bithekere, former treasurer for Mubuku town council, Mr.Hudu Yusuf Ndungo and Assistant Engineering officer KDLG, Lalobo Robert.
Earlier, the secretary for Works and Technical services Kasese District, Hon. Robert Mbusa Kisunzu, said the team arrived in the district yesterday for an impromptu five day official visit.
Kisunzu told Kasese guide radio this afternoon that they Anti-Corruption Unit is verifying allocation of vehicles, motorcycles, procurement, Ghost workers on government payroll, Finance department and reported sale of Jobs among others. Hon. Kisunzu on Ant-corruption…..
Hon.Kisunzu who said the team will unearth alleged corruption in Kasese district asked civil servants to collaborate with state house anti-corruption team for effective service delivery.
