Centre for Hope and Life in and After Prisons Initiative –CHALAPI –Uganda has donated balls to the children who are temporarily encamped in the different camps in Kasese district in order to make them busy.

According to Mr. Godfrey Kule Kiwede, the organizations Executive Director, the donation was also meant to extend some psycho-social support to the children who were displaced by the devastating floods that recently hit Kasese district.

Delivering the 240 balls to the beneficiaries, yesterday Kiwede urged them to optimally utilize the donation.

He said the people living in camps are undergoing a lot of trauma since they have been disconnected from their lucrative activities. Mr.Kiwede explains:…..

The organization also donated 50 liters of fuel to support the activities of the

Kasese District Inter-faith Committee in the established camps.

According to statistics from the Kasese District Disaster and Risk Management Committee, over 18,500 people who were recently displaced, are encamped at 29 temporary camps established at schools and churches across the district.
