The Pastoral coordinator for the Diocese of Kasese, Rev Fr. Modest Kasenyangwe Masereka has reminded Catholic Christians to celebrate this year`s Uganda Martyrs day on June 3rd from their respective local churches as a measure against fueling the spread of the deadly COVID-19 Virus.
Speaking to Kasese guide radio in Kasese yesterday, Rev Fr. Kasenyangwe who encourages Christians to pray the Novena against any calamities, revealed that no trekking to Namugongo Martyrs Shrine this year nor Diocesan gatherings at Diocesan levels will be allowed over COVID-19 threats.
He encourages the Catholic faithful to make full use of their local Churches for the intercession of the Martyrs against a number of Challenges they were facing. Rev Fr. .Kasenyangwe speaking1………
He went on to ask Christians to emulate Uganda Martyrs who despite the threats against Christianity by the Cultural Kingship in Buganda then, the Uganda Martyrs stood firm to affirm their belief in Christ.
