Mr. Zepher Mubingwa, the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in charge of Busongora has called for cease fire over land ownership in Kihara ward in Kasese Municipality as he leads talks to identify ownership.

Addressing a community meeting in Kihara yesterday, Mr. Mubingwa who called for peaceful livings, said whereas some contested pieces of land had been claimed and others sold, his office was to consult widely and closely associate with the matter to identity the real owners to minimize conflicts. Mr Kashagama Businge Bazira, one of whose pieces of land in Kihara have been encroached on, called for total respect to the High court decision, asking the suspected encroachers to stop for peace and unity to prevail.
Mr. Kashagama who says not all his land was under dispute, asked the encroachers to be agents of peace by not targeting to own or sell what does not belong to them. Mr Kashagama speaking………
The locals through their representative argued that the contentious land on which they have lived for many years is engulf in the land lease for Mr Kashagama. END
