The Minister of Local Government Hon. Raphael Magyezi has given two weeks ultimatum to the chief Administrative officer Kasese district, Mr. Elias Byamungu to have Dr. Edward Wefula reinstated on Government payroll.
Dr. Wefula, the Medical Director Mt. St. Marys Hospital Diocese of Kasese is alleged to have spent thirteen months off payroll.
Addressing hundreds of Christians at our lady of assumption Kasese cathedral church shortly after official opening of Mt. St. Marys Hospital Diocese of Kasese, Hon. Magyezi who represented President Yoweri Museveni, described Dr. Wafula as a medical resource, pledging to report to President Museveni and the Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng about the status of Dr. Wafula, who is among experienced Orthopaedic surgeons in Uganda.

Earlier, the Bishop Diocese of Kasese Rt Rev Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale had asked Minister Magyezi to ensure Dr.Wefula is reinstated back on salary and appointed at Mt. St. Marys Hospital Diocese of Kasese.
