Cameroon‘s President Paul Biya has been re-elected for an eighth term with 54% of the vote, according to results from the Constitutional Council.
Biya has been in power since 1960, making him only the second head of state to lead Cameroon since its independence from France. His official vote count was 54.8%, while opposition sources claimed he received only 31.3% of the votes. END
