A section of taxi drivers from Bwera stage operating in Kasese Taxi Park have threatened to hold a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday should the leadership fail to hold elections for the new chairperson for Bwera stage.
Some taxi drivers who had pitch camped at Kasese central police station this morning said they are allegedly tired by the leadership of the current chairperson, Mr. Moses Karutaru Muhammad Kyugi over allegations of poor accountability of driver’s funds.
Mr. Ronald Masereka, a driver for Bwera stage said the demonstration is aimed to awaken the taxi leadership to hold peaceful elections.

The acting Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East Region Superintended of police, SP Luke Mbusa confirmed having received reports of the planned demonstration but asked them to be calm as police investigates the matter.
