The Busunga local resident-Ugandan Wildlife decades long disagreements over land boundaries have come to an end after the two parties came to a common understanding during a community meeting chaired by the Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Mr. Zephanous Mubingwa.
In the meeting, a community representative said now that the other community faction that seemed too hard about the new survey plans had complied and the fact that the affected community was doing badly financially, Uganda Wildlife Authority should fund the processes of the land title and the required certificate of land ownership by the local residents. Mr. Charles Tumwesigye, the Deputy Director for field operations in UWA says meanwhile his office was going to spearhead the construction of the electric wire now that the boundary conflict was settled, UWA has no mandate to fund the land title processes for the local residents as asked unless directed by the line minister who he advised they should petition if need be.
