NRM Village chairpersons in Bunyangabu District have finally received bicycles after four months of waiting.
The delayed arrival of the bicycles had triggered questions among village and parish leaders, some of who abandoned NRM mobilization activities in the heat of a campaign.
In September last year, 12 motorcycles were delivered for the NRM party Sub-County leaders in the District.
But on Monday the NRM district chairman Peter Musinguzi handed over 373 bicycles to the chairpersons to ease mobilization in villages.
Although the bikes came after the election which was won by the NRM candidate Yoweri Museveni and NRM candidates in the district, Musinguzi says that mobilization for the party should be a daily duty for its leaders.
Musinguzi adds that the chairpersons are also expected to use the transport means to monitor the performance of government programs at a lower level.
