Local leaders under their G8 forum in Bukonzo County West in Kasese district have reechoed the local community concerns over what they call the breakdown on the road network that has frustrated communication in the area.
According to some chairpersons, most roads under the Kasese district local government and Uganda National Roads Authority are in a sorry state and require urgent attention.
Mr. Gregory Makotsa, the G8 Coordinator who also doubles as the local council three chairperson for Bwera sub-county listed the Kasika-Nyakimasa road that connects his subcounty to Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council, the Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council-Karambi-Kitholhu road and Katholhu-Mundongo –Bwera hospital are some of the roads he called a frustration to service delivery and communication among the locals. Mr. Gregory was however appreciative of Uganda Wildlife Authority that is currently working hard to extend an electric fence along the Queen Elizabeth National park through Nyakatonzi-Nyamugasani river to Busunnga area against the roaming wildlife that had negatively impacted on food production for decades. He later asked local leaders to desist from mixing individual political interests with matters of public concerns for the sake of delivering jointly to their electorates. END.
