Congolese Nationals in the areas of Kalibuli Village, Karuruma in North Kivu, Beni Territory have commended Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo for the joint military offensive against the Allied Democratic Forces in the Eastern part of the former Belgium colony.
To most local community members, the joint operation led by the UPDF is a success that should be spread to the whole province to ease service delivery to the locals.
Maj. Bilal Katamba, the UPDF Spokesperson for Operation Shujja said during a community meeting with the commander for the UPDF Land Forces in the DR Congo, Lt Gen. Kayanjya Muhanga, the local residents of Kalibuli in Karuruma area asked him to deliver their sincere appreciation to President Museveni and his counterpart Felix Antoine Tshisekedi for the work well done against the Allied Democratic Forces Terrorists.
The Beni territorial chief of woks, Mr. Muse Kakule like other local leaders, described peace as a fundamental pillar of development that should be embraced by all.
Mr. Matara Tembeya, another local leader asked the local community to fully support the operation he said would save lives and property from the ADF.

This week, the commander of the UPDF Mountain Division and Operation Shujaa, Major General Dick Olum said Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces under Operation Shujaa had killed over 540 Allied Democratic Forces rebels, captured 50 alive, while 31 have surrendered to the joint forces in DRC since 30th November 2021.
