Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded a boda boda rider, George Byaruhanga, from Wamala, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, over allegations of using electronic devices to steal 332 million shillings from Centenary Bank.
45-year-old Byaruhanga was today arraigned before Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi on six charges, including fraud, impersonation, forgery, and uttering false documents.
He is accused of using multiple identities, including Ronald Kintu and Rogers Ainembabazi, to commit the crime. According to the prosecution led by Grace Amy, in February 2025, at Centenary Bank Mapeera Building in Kampala, he transferred 332 million shillings from an account registered under the name Ronald Kintu to another in the name Rogers Ainembabazi using electronic devices. The case has been adjourned to November 12, 2025, for further hearing and consideration of bail. END
