Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale, the Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese has called for practical sensitization approaches by leaders about the need for commercial farming which he called viable means of neutralizing the current poverty levels among the local community members.
Bishop Kibira said whereas there are touchable plans for vote mobilization, politicians were not doing enough in promoting model farming, before blaming some agricultural extension workers who only get salaries as the locals farmers languish with poor farming methods, old coffee trees and poor managed banana plantations along Kitswamba-Bwesumbu road.
In his speech shortly after presiding over Holy Mass at Kabatunda Catholic Sub Parish in Kitswamba Parish where he administered the sacrament of Confirmation and opening a Eucharistic Center yesterday, Bishop Kibira called for plans to sensitize the locals about the need for commercial farming aimed at facilitating family needs, including, food, educating children, health needs and other family projects for the future.
