The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has asked leaders of cooperative societies in Kasese district to timely deal with their succession plans without which their ligancies will be tempered with in future.
The Bishop’s guidance followed a revelation by Mr. Painato Baluku, the outgoing Managing Director who said the union was to source for his successor as he exits after clocking sixty years of age mandate by their constitution. Mr. Painato speaking…..
Addressing members of Bukonzo Joint Cooperative Union in Kyalhumba town council in Kasese district during his visit, Bishop Nason who also attended the cooperative’s Annual General Meeting said most cooperatives have collapsed over handpicking unexperienced and ignorant administrators in running such groups that otherwise would have been managed by groomed staff.
The Bishop who asked members to be mindful of the quantity and quality they produce, was scared that whereas Mr. Pinato intends to leave the cooperative over his current age as spelled by their constitution, the members’ decades struggle may be short-lived if there is no clear succession plan.
