In a bid to promote food security, south Rwenzori Diocese has distributed more two hundred sacks of cassava cuttings to churches and Christians to plant this season.
The donation which was given out on Wednesday(20th.March.2024 is an additional to over three hundred sacks of cassava cuttings that were supplied last year to some churches to establish demonstration farms to champion the sustainability of cassava growing campaign in Kasese district.
The campaign is aimed to improve food security and fight poverty at household levels by 2030.
Presiding over the function, the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, emphasized the diocese prioritized cassava growing because of its associated benefits to local population.
